The department gives a range of courses in the fields of forest vegetation ecology, soil science and silviculture, all together more than 30 courses. Most of these courses are given in the MSc in Forestry programme, but there are several courses open to external students and students coming from abroad, i.e courses given in English. During spring 2009 the following courses are
Vegetation Ecology (15 HEC, Master D, starting 2009-01-19)
International Silviculture (7.5 HEC, Master D, starting 2009-02-19)
Fire Management I (7.5 HEC, Bachelor AB, starting 2009-02-19)
Fire Management II (7.5 HEC, Bachelor C, starting 2009-02-19)

For the autumn semester the follwing course is available:.
Ecology and Management of Forest Soils (15 HEC, Master D, starting 2009-08-31)

In addition, in spring 2010 the course Silviculture - Advanced course (7.5 HEC, Master D, starting 2010-01-18) will be given.

Thesis worksAbout 30-35 theses are conducted anually at the department, the absolute majority are master theses but there are also a few bachelor theses. Many of the theses are conducted in co-operation with forest companies or together with different authorities. List of theses published 2007-2008 (including abstract + link to pdf-document)
